9:24PM | Ethical Robbery
"And now they [the supermarkets] even keep baby formula locked up. My thing is, if someone is desperate and poor enough to need to steal baby formula, they should just let them have it. I mean, babies can't go without food."

Here is a link to Doug Wilson's sermon outline for this coming Sunday. It is entitled "Reformed Is Not Enough: XIX". I did not save the previous eighteen sermon outlines in this series, so starting with the nineteenth will have to do.
6:12PM | Boozer!
Not much time to blog today. I'm here at work on the last few minutes of my lunch break. Today at work I met Carlos Boozer's parents. They came in to do a return, and his dad looked very familiar, and then I saw his name on his credit card. I talked to them about Carlos and his new team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. They are very proud of their son, which is understandable. He was dominating at Duke and has a good chance to make the Cav's NBA squad, since their big men - Zydrunas Ilgauskas, DiSagana Diop, and Chris Mihm - are often injured and unproductive.
8:49PM | Drunk or Just Stupid?
Here's a conversation between two buddies at work last Sunday morning.
Dave: What was the deal the other night?
Ryan: What are you talking about?
Dave: The other night at the party I had only just walked in and you laid into me with all you had. A little higher and you would have cracked a rib, and then I would have had to hurt you.
Ryan: I don't remember.
Dave: You were pretty drunk.
Ryan: Yeah, I probably was.
Dave: I was just standing there talking to someone and all of a sudden you deliever a huge punch to my stomach. A little higher and I would have had to hurt you.
Ryan: What party was this?
Dave: The one at ----'s place.
Ryan: Was I there?
8:44PM | Pictures A'plenty
For those of you who have any connection to the Christian Worldview Student Conference and are interested in seeing pictures from the event this past week, here a couple links for you. The perennial picture queen Rachel Booth took six rolls of pics, and has a lot of them scanned into her online photo album. Excellent work with the camera Rachel, as always. -Rachel Booth's pictures- -Misty's album-

11:58AM | No More Topless Girls At NSA
A while back, the city of Moscow, Idaho passed an ordinance allowing women to appear in public topless. This prompted among other things a recent public car wash provided by topless girls. The Christian community did not like this, and moved for an amendment to the ordinance forbidding women to go topless in public. Moscow city-councilman John Guyer, a good Christian gentleman, member of the Drone's Club, and frequent Big Haus guest, led the movement to get this proposed amendment ratified. When the city council passed a somewhat vague amendment, Mr. Guyer pushed for a more clearly worded amendment, and now it is to be published within the next forty-eight hours. Here is the letter from John Guyer to the Christ Church and other Moscow Christian communities:
Greetings,
As you may know, the Public Nudity ordinance was successfully amended last night to prohibit women from bearing their breasts where they can be seen in public. The precise wording is better then what we had a week ago (referred to by some as the "suspender ordinance"). Clear definitions are included to provide guidance for law enforcement. While this ordinance is still, somewhat unique, in its precise wording, I believe it is the best that this council would accept, and clearly the one the Lord provided.
The amended ordinance will be effective after it has been published (tonight or tomorrow night). Consequently, the few remaining hours of "freedom" that these young women have will likely result in a very public display.
I would like to thank each of you for your encouragement, prayers, and support. The saints became salt and light to a tasteless, dark world. Many still do not know "what the big deal is" despite the salt and light. Please continue that God would have mercy on their souls, and grant them hearts of repentance. As all law, this ordinance does nothing but provide ink on paper. Its existence, efficaciousness and long term viability are all in Him and through Him.
John B. Guyer

My buddy Remy Wilkins over in Moscow, a member of the Shadowards, wrote a particular piece of poetry that I enjoyed. I like melancholy poetry.
8:37PM | Disappearing Act
Does Enetation always disappear for short periods of times? I was making my morning rounds of blogdom at work and noticed that all the sites with Enetation-provided comment systems lacked all traces of comments. I may be seeking the man behind Sensus Plenior soon to set up a speedy, dependable commenting system.

8:34PM | Smells of the Southfarthing
There have been few smells in life that I have enjoyed more than pipe tobacco. Inoffensive and not dirty-smelling, unlike cigarettes and cigars, somewhat sweet and earthy. An elderly gentleman came into CompUSA today withe the aroma of pipe tobacco about him, and it smelled just like Evan Wilson's Drone's blend. Reminded me of the Wilson's library, a beautiful room in which I spent many hours for two years.

11:14PM | Unnatural Sunday
Another Sunday without church. I have ensured that I will have next Sunday off. Maybe I'll go to Kristen's church. Let me share one of my favorite Psalms, one that I read again today. It's certainly something we all should strive for, keeping a pure heart by avoiding extended association with unbelievers and actively resisting things that will tempt us to sin, and seeking association with those who are also seeking pureness of heart.
Psalm 101
I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.
I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way, O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside, it shall not cleave to me.
A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
Mine eyes shall be upon the faithfaul of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a oerfect way, he shall serve me.
He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.
I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.
